Adam Oswald LLB.

Principal Solicitor –  Karratha & Joondalup

Adam is our hard working and dedicated Principal Solicitor and the founder of Oswald Legal.

In 1989, Adam and his wife moved from the United Kingdom to Perth where he climbed the ranks in the WA Police Force, first as an officer on the beat and later as a prosecutor. He then chose to further his legal career by studying at Edith Cowan University to become in a defence lawyer and in 2011 he joined a local boutique firm in Joondalup as a solicitor.

Adam is passionate that Pilbara locals have access to a local law firm that offers fixed price services. His passion lies with Criminal Law matters such as Murder, Driving Matters, Firearms, Fraud and Sexual Offences. Adam also represents numerous clients in their Civil Law matters such as objections to VRO’s and neighbour disputes.

Although he is based in Karratha, Adam consistently visits our Joondalup office to meet with Perth based clients and continue to oversee the work that the solicitors are undertaking.

In his spare time Adam enjoys undertaking various renovations at home and investigating the latest technologies.

Andrew Guy LLB.

Senior Solicitor – Joondalup

Andrew Guy is an Senior Practitioner who has worked in the law for over 15 years. He was admitted to practice, in the Supreme Court of Western Australia and the High Court of Australia, in 2011 and has kept a focus on Criminal Defence as a primary practice area.

As a Legal Practitioner he has defended all forms of criminal charges from Drunk and Disorderly to Murder. Of late, Andrew has experienced great success in defending those unfairly accused of Indecent Dealings.

Andrew appears as Duty Counsel for Legal Aid Western Australia on occasion obtaining valuable experience in a fast paced environment. However, his main focus is on more complex criminal matters.

Andrew is based in our Joondalup Office, but regularly appears in Court all over the metropolitan area and regional Western Australia.

Matthew Townsend 

Solicitor – Joondalup

Although Matthew Townsend is a Junior Practitioner who was admitted to practice in late 2022, he has worked in law for 5 years working with the prominent criminal defence barristers & queens counsel in Perth.

Since he was admitted he has fought for justice and the clients have had the outcome they hoped for in the majority of cases.

Matthew hails from a military background, having served in an Armoured Regiment of the Australian Defence Force. In his spare time Matthew is often found scuba diving or exploring Southwest Wine Region.

Matthew is based in our Joondalup Office, but appears in Court all over the metropolitan area and regional Western Australia.

Natasha 

Practice Manager

Administration – Joondalup

Natasha is the main point of contact when you call and email Oswald Legal or when you visit our Joondalup office.

With a Bachelors Degree in Primary Education and years of training in Leadership while living in the UK for 4 years, Natasha now works for the family business managing the human resources and accounts side of things.

She is the go-to for our staff and clients alike. Natasha prides herself on maintaining an office environment that promotes good mental well-being for all and she’ll happily make you a tea or coffee when you come in for your appointments.

Natasha currently works part time and in her spare time enjoys exploring the independent small businesses in the local area.

Hadyn Green

Paralegal

Administration – Karratha

Hadyn is an associate professor (Forensic Science) at UWA, started his own Forensic Analysis firm, was the superintendent of the WA Police Force, has worked as Australasian disaster victim identification commander and worked as a Corruption investigator with the office of Police Integrity Victoria. He was awarded the Australian Police Medal.

Hadyn is your main point of contact in our Karratha office. He is able to meet with clients to take their witness statements and often drafts costs agreements. Hadyn often spends his days researching information and analysing evidence for cases.

In his spare time he is enjoys writing and is a published author and an enthusiastic FWD and camper. He considers himself a local after living in Karratha since 2015.

Mariana Berdianu

Ella 

Receptionist

Administration – Karratha

Ella began working in the Criminal law sector while she was still in High School. Originally working for her father at Bodeker Legal as a receptionist and legal secretary and eventually moving to Aboriginal Legal Service in the same role. She has also worked for REFAP where she built skills and employment opportunities for the Pilbara Locals.

In 2020 Ella made the move from Perth to Hedland where she met her now fiancé, together they moved to Karratha to begin their life together.

Ella has a particular interest in Criminal Law and is an avid reader of classic literature in her free time. She enjoys playing Tennis, travelling around the North of WA discovering hidden beaches and camping.

 

Adam Milward

Student Solicitor  – Joondalup 

Adam is currently completing his law degree at Edith Cowan University.  During his studies Adam has been volunteering his time with the Criminal Justice Review Project, a project which commits itself to pursuing the exoneration of those who have been wrongly convicted. This volunteer work aligns with Adam’s passions and interests which mainly lie in Criminal and Family Law.

In his spare time he volunteers at university events, surfing and spending time with his family.
